2020 Bubble
2020 Bubble is the research of a unitary system creating a unique interdependence between two materials avoiding the traditional building system.
The two materials are Plywood 4mm and PET 3mm that are completely recyclable and can be disassembled which greatly reduces the impact of the final result.
The idea is to stress the property of plastic to be flexible and thermoformable and create structural rigidity by changing the geometry of a simple PET sheet.

The designed project it's a pavilion dome composed of 10 stripes characterized by two kinds of bubbles that act as joints and as an aesthetic texture at the same time.

The strongest joint of the bubble system
The holes designed on the plywood stripes are the molds for the PET that is thermoformed and generate bubbles that keep the two material together and hold the entire dome.
